On the Floor

I lay
Among a spinning
Field of workers
Who find themselves
Often stressed
And overdone

I lay
In peace and quiet
With careful
Knowledge
That my brain
Comes first
And my body second
And my stress
Last

I lay
With smiles
Of sunshine
Weeping out
Of me
And my tired body
Which is fatigued
With laughter
And knowledge
And a happy soul
Is quietly resting.

I lay
On my bedroom
Floor
A chill to my arm
But only because
I’m blanketing
My feet
To protect
The part of my body
Which I love the most

Because they get me
Where I need to go
And make me
Happy
